The competitor must be a current member in good standing of the LYO Symphony Orchestra.
Competition judges will be selected by the LYO Symphony Conductor and Education Director.
Winners will be chosen by the judges. The number of winners is not predetermined.
All decisions made by the judges (in consultation with the Symphony Orchestra Conductor) are final.
Concerto winners will be featured only once during their LYO membership. Once a member has won the competition, they are ineligible for participation on other instruments that they may also play.
Compositions with two or more soloists (e.g., violin and cello, for example) are allowed.
If multiple contestants are chosen as winners, the performance will count as each player’s one performance during their LYO membership.
This will be a live audition. Recorded auditions will not be accepted.
